About Earth, Wind & Fire
Since their formation in 1969, Earth, Wind & Fire have left a lasting mark on the music industry. The original lineup was assembled in Chicago by Maurice White. White, a former session drummer for Chess Records and a member of the Ramsey Lewis
White envisioned a band that fused a multitude of genres with an Afrocentric, spiritually enriching message. The result was a sound that encompassed R&B, soul, funk, jazz, disco, pop, rock, dance, Latin, and Afro-pop. Hits like "September," "Boogie Wonderland," and "Let's Groove" catapulted the group to fame.
They have since scored several #1 singles on the Billboard R&B charts, produced multiple #1 albums, and accepted multiple Grammys, American Music Awards, and a BET Lifetime Achievement Award. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003.
Throughout their journey, EWF have undergone significant lineup changes, but these shifts only added to the richness and evolution of their sound.
