The History of Atlanta Falcons Football
The Atlanta Falcons have been soaring through the NFL, leaving a trail of unforgettable moments in their wake. Established in 1965 as the NFL's 15th franchise, they soon became a symbol of the South's vibrant spirit. Over the years, the team has showcased an incredible amount of talent and determination.
A rise to prominence was fueled by iconic players like Tommy Nobis, who became the first draft pick and legendary cornerstone for the club. The organization tasted playoff success in 1978, driven by the “Grits Blitz” defense that dominated opponents.
In 1998, the Falcons made an indelible mark by reaching the Super Bowl, an unforgettable moment in the team’s history. Their journey was highlighted by the leadership of head coach Dan Reeves and electrifying quarterback Chris Chandler. Although they fell short of the championship, their remarkable run remains etched in the memories of fans.
The new millennium brought renewed hope, and in 2008, Atlanta made another playoff appearance led by quarterback Matt Ryan. A return to the Super Bowl came in 2016, after one of the squad’s most thrilling seasons. They captured the NFC Championship and played their hearts out in Super Bowl LI even though the game ended in heartbreak.
Today, Atlanta is looking toward a bright future, and the anticipation is palpable. Be part of their story! Get your Falcons tickets now, and root on your team as they make their way back to the top!

Of course, rivalries add a little spice, and one of the Falcons' most heated battles is with the New Orleans Saints. This flame was ignited in 1967 and continues to burn brightly, captivating fans with every encounter. Fans of both clubs look forward to their contests, and you can feel the intensity from the first kick-off to the final whistle.
The Mercedes-Benz Stadium Information & Parking
Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the home of the Atlanta Falcons. Opened in 2017, this modern masterpiece is situated in the heart of downtown Atlanta, Georgia, and is known for its cutting-edge design, sustainable features, and fan-focused amenities. It offers a superb game-day experience for over 71,000 guests.
The facility’s retractable roof turns the arena into an open-air environment when the weather is fair and provides shelter when it's not. Surrounding it, you’ll find immersive visuals streaming on the “Halo Board,” a 360-degree, 58-foot-tall, 1,100,000-pound circular video screen—one of the largest in the world.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium has some of the lowest concession prices in the league, as well as concourses packed with activities and a range of accommodations. There's something for every fan! Be sure to check our detailed seating charts to find your perfect place in the stands, but we’ve included an overview below of what you can expect in each area.
100 Level
Without a doubt, the 100 level offers some of the most desirable views. Rows 20 and up are the best bet for anyone concerned with being able to see over the players, staff, and equipment, and people rave about seats in rows 36–44 nearest the club seats. Sections 105–112 and 126–130 come with premium amenities and lounge access.
People who want to sit behind the Falcons' sideline should look for availability in sections 101–109. Across the field, sections 121–129 are situated in front of the visitors’ sideline. The home team’s tunnel is located between sections 116 and 117, and the away tunnel is adjacent to section 113.
Dirty Bird’s Nest
This general admission fan zone in section 134 is set aside for those revelers who like to cause a raucous on game day! Fans in this section boldly cheer on the Falcons and try to raise the energy of the crowd. This is the area that generates enough noise to be considered a home-field advantage.
200 Level
Unlike some stadiums, this venue did not limit single seating space on the second level to make room for suites and lounges. Even better, the sightlines at the 200 level are fantastic due to its ideal elevation. Some prefer sitting here than on the level below.
300 Level
The 300 Level offers a mid-tier view of the action. It's an excellent choice for those who want a good vantage point of the field without the premium cost. With the exception of some uppermost rows, fans rave about their views of the Halo Board on this level.
Club Seating
Mercedes-Benz Stadium includes three all-inclusive clubs on the premises. The AMG Lounge serves ticket holders in section 110 on the Falcons side of the field, and the Truist Club can be found near section 128 on the visitors’ side. Additionally, sections 126-130 are Delta Sky360° Club seats.
On the 200 level, the Cherokee Casino Clubs are located on both sides of the field at the 50-yard line and feature spectacular views through retractable floor-to-ceiling windows. They are a prime choice for private events.
Accessibility Options
Individuals with disabilities and their companions can arrange accessible seating on any level, but it’s important to note that relocations on the day of the event are limited and not guaranteed. Personal seating equipment, such as chairs, stools, and cushions, are not permitted in the stadium.
Gate 1, Gate 2, and the Silver Deck Bridge entrance are recommended, and there are drop-off locations in front of the Home Depot Backyard and in front of the Georgia International Plaza or the Red Parking Deck.
Elevators can be found in sections 104, 116, 122, and 133 on the first level, 203, 218, 230, and 243 on the second level, and 303, 318, 333, and 346 on the third level. There are additional elevators near the NCR and Gallagher suites.
Parking & Alternative Transportation
Parking can be limited, so planning ahead is crucial. Luckily, GoTickets offers buyers the option to reserve a spot when Falcons tickets are purchased. This ensures that you’ll have a spot when you arrive for the game.
Alternatively, MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) is available for those who prefer public transportation. It’s a cost-effective and convenient way to reach the venue without worrying about parking.
For a more sustainable option, biking and walking are possible in the bustling downtown area. Mercedes-Benz Stadium has bike racks, and the city of Atlanta features pedestrian-friendly paths for those on foot.
Falcons Tailgating & Game Day Traditions
Atlanta sports fans know how to kick off game day with a bang, and at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the atmosphere is as hot as the host city. Fans gather early, decked out in their Falcons' finest, and fire up grills for a pre-game feast.
The stadium's parking lots come alive as the smell of BBQ floats through the air. You'll find tailgaters playing cornhole, tossing a football around, or simply sharing stories. Georgia’s culinary prowess shines through with menus featuring Southern delights, including tempting peach cobbler.
Before kickoff, a fan zone known as “Falcons Landing,” is a hub of activities from live music to games for attendees of all ages. As ticket holders make their way to the stadium gates, many stop to take photos with the giant steel sculpture of a falcon grasping a football. Created by Hungarian artist Gabor Miklos Szoke, it’s the largest freestanding bird sculpture in the world!
Inside, the team mascot Freddie Falcon helps to set the stage for what’s to come. If you're lucky, you might even get to catch him in flight—with the help of heavy-duty equipment. We’ve heard he’s very skilled at bungee jumping.
So rise up, and join the Falcons' faithful. Buy your Atlanta Falcons tickets today, and prepare for an amazing football adventure in the heart of A-Town!
