The History of Las Vegas Raiders Football
Before you gear up for the next Raiders showdown, let's take a little journey through the rich history of this notorious franchise. Established in Oakland, California, in 1960, this club has carved a legendary path through the NFL.
Even in the early years, the Raiders' rebellious spirit was evident, and by 1965, silver and black had become synonymous with their bold and fearless style of play. In the 1970s, with coach John Madden at the helm, they won their first Super Bowl. And the iconic "Immaculate Reception" by Franco Harris in the playoffs that year is forever etched in football lore.
The Raiders continued their dominance in the 1980s, with players like Marcus Allen, Howie Long, and Tim Brown leaving a lasting impact. The organization was a perennial contender, but moves to Los Angeles in 1982 and back to Oakland in 1995 added complicated chapters to their saga.
Now the team calls Las Vegas home, and they have defined their legacy as a strong squad with even stronger personalities. See them live! Get your Raiders tickets today, and be there to witness the thrilling moments this storied franchise is known for.
The Raiders Football Schedule
Before you can head to the stadium, you’ll need to mark your favorite matchups on the calendar. We post the latest NFL schedules, so you won’t have to go far to find the info you need. That’s the easy part! The tough task is narrowing down the possibilities, so let’s talk rivalries.
One of the most contentious relationships in the NFL features the Las Vegas Raiders pitted against the Kansas City Chiefs. The battles between these classic adversaries are widely renowned. When they are paired up, the ensuing clash captivates the crowd and often shifts the landscape of the AFC West.
Another club that keeps Las Vegas hopefuls on the edges of their seats is the Denver Broncos. These hard-fought contests are also intradivisional duels, and they underscore the grit and determination of both teams. The energy reaches a fever pitch when they meet, creating an electric atmosphere that defines the essence of Raiders football.
Any opponents that can shape the Raiders' journey to the Super Bowl are worthy of consideration. Whether they are a perennial contender or a rising star, they’ll give Las Vegas a chance to shine.
Allegiant Stadium Information & Parking:
Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas is the home of Raiders football. With its sleek black and silver exterior, the arena’s aesthetic is exactly what you would expect from the Raiders. LED light strips let you know that you’re in the Entertainment Capital of the World, but in case you need another reminder, large retractable side windows face the Strip.
The structure cost a cool $2.15 billion, and it opened its gates in 2020. Its semi-translucent roof won’t really let you see the Nevada sky, but with nine levels below them, people on the upper deck might feel like they’re part of it.
The fully enclosed and climate-controlled facility also hosts UNLV Rebels college football games, as well as rugby matches, concerts, and other special events. It was even selected as the site of Super Bowl LVIII!
The Raiders rush in through a tunnel between sections 125 and 126, then line up in front of Club sections 133–135. The visiting team enters between sections 103 and 105, and head to their sideline at Club sections 111–113.
Accessibility Options
Allegiant Stadium is committed to providing an inclusive experience for all fans. Dedicated personnel cater to individuals with special needs, offering accessible seating options and assistance.
All gates are ADA accessible, and one lane at each is reserved for individuals with disabilities. Elevators are strategically placed for easy access, and ADA sections are thoughtfully designated throughout the building. Relocation requests may be honored on a first-come, first-served basis but are not guaranteed.
Parking & Alternative Transportation
In Vegas, finding a place for your vehicle can be tricky. Luckily, GoTickets allows users to book parking passes when they buy Raiders tickets. We highly recommend doing so, so you can focus on the gridiron action rather than the parking scramble.
For those who prefer not to drive, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada operates multiple bus routes that serve Allegiant Stadium. Check the schedule and routes to find the most convenient option for your location.
If you’re staying on the Strip, the closest accommodations are at the Delano Las Vegas & Mandalay Bay. The Hacienda Bridge is closed to traffic during events and offers a walkable path. It’s typically about a 15-minute walk to the stadium.
Some hotels and entertainment providers in the area may also offer exclusive shuttle services. If not, consider the sleek and efficient Las Vegas Monorail system. The closest stop to the venue is at the MGM Grand station. In fact, if you drive part of the way and park at any lot near one of its stops, you might save a little time and money on your trip.
Raiders Nation Tailgating & Game Day Traditions
Game days at Allegiant Stadium offer a unique blend of Vegas-caliber entertainment. Before kickoff, tailgating takes center stage, and the Modelo Tailgate Zone is touted as “the ultimate pre-game party.”
The event is open to the public, and attendees decked out in their best black and silver duds turn the lots into a festive playground. In addition to a sea of Raiders faithful, you’ll typically find interactive games, photo ops, and special appearances.
Cooks fire up their grills and show off their culinary prowess so people can indulge in barbecue and other hearty, traditional game day snacks. Cold beer and cocktails are flowing, and partner promos and giveaways are always a hit!
By game time, most ticket holders have made their way through the gates and to their seats. The Raiderettes, the team's cheerleaders, engage the crowd with dynamic performances, adding their own special touch to the pre-game celebrations.
Chants reverberate through the building, and Raider Nation is on full display. The notorious "Black Hole" section adds an extra dose of intensity, doing their best to motivate the players and make every game a memorable experience for everyone in attendance.
Don't miss out! Choose a game or two, and reserve your Raiders tickets today. Support your team in Las Vegas or on the road, and enjoy an exciting day with fellow fans. You won’t regret it!
