The History of Chicago Bears Football
The Chicago Bears are one of the National Football League's most storied franchises, and they have a history rich in tradition and ripe with memorable moments. Established in 1920, the Bears were a founding member of the National Football League, and their legacy embodies the heart and soul of Chicago.
The club's early years included standout players like Red Grange, known as the "Galloping Ghost," who drew fans to the game with his electrifying plays. The team captured three NFL Championships in the 1930s under the leadership of coach George Halas, a legendary figure in football.
Then, during the fabulous ‘40s, the squad showcased its dominance by appearing in four straight League Championships and winning three. This feat stunned the world of professional sports and confirmed the Bears’ powerhouse status.
They earned the title again in 1946 and 1963, and in 1985, the organization assembled one of the most dominant defenses ever known and reclaimed an old nickname. The new "Monsters of the Midway forged a path to Super Bowl XX, where they defeated the New England Patriots, securing their first official Super Bowl trophy. And who could ever forget the “Super Bowl Shuffle”?
Throughout the years, the Bears have been family to extraordinary athletes like Walter Payton, Dick Butkus, and Mike Singletary. Their impact on the game and the city of Chicago is immeasurable, and today, the Bears continue to write their story. Buy your Bears tickets today, and you can be a part of it!

Soldier Field Information & Parking
Soldier Field is the historic home of the Chicago Bears, and it stands on the shores of magnificent Lake Michigan. This iconic venue opened in 1924 and holds a special place in the hearts of Bears fans. Named to honor American soldiers, it combines modern amenities with historic charm.
The venue has a seating capacity of over 61,000 and offers an electric atmosphere for every game. Whether you're looking for seats close to the action or a panoramic view of the field and the stunning Chicago skyline, there's a perfect spot here for you.
From prime seats along the sidelines to exciting end zone views, Soldier Field caters to various preferences. We’ve posted detailed seating charts so you can compare sections before you purchase your Bears tickets, but a brief synopsis of the main areas of the stadium is included below for your convenience.
100 Level
Seats on the lowest level put people close to the players so they can really feel the energy of the game! The Bears parade onto the field through a tunnel at section 148, and sections 133–140 provide excellent views of their sideline. If you’re more interested in the opposition, you’ll want to take note of the tunnel near section 155 and the visitors' sideline in front of sections 107–111.
Sections 148 and 155 are designated as alcohol-free areas, so these sections tend to be full of families and more on the calm side—as calm as it gets at a Chicago football game. You can also find family-friendly seats in the higher half of sections 104 and 105, which are located near the restroom at section 154. There’s also a chance you’ll be protected from inclement weather by the upper section overhang.
200 Level
Seats on the second level are shaded, making them a popular option during the sunnier months of the season, but they can also protect spectators from rain and snow. Regardless of the weather, fans here have fantastic views of the field.
The Media Deck comprises sections 228–246 on the west (home) side of Soldier Field. Each section contains between 6 and 12 rows, and the sightlines are some of the most impressive you’ll find here.
United Club seats are on the east (visitors’) side of the stadium in sections 202–216 and 301–317. Occupants can get comfy in large cushioned seats, multiple bars, upgraded dining options, and a climate-controlled lounge. Club patrons can arrive via private entrance up to two hours before kickoff and are free to stay for a while after the final whistle.
The Colonnades
Colonnade seating is situated between the 2nd and 3rd levels in both end zones. Both the north and south Colonnades offer elevated seating beneath the video boards. Sections on the south side are smaller and have more convenient access to concessions.
300 Level
Loft sections under the south end zone video board don’t have the best sightlines, but ticket holders enjoy them for the standing rail and their proximity to the bar. If you go to games to socialize, the Miller Lite Lofts might be for you! Additionally, some fans consider sections 330–344 part of the Grandstands, and these seats provide premium viewing for an affordable price.
400 Level
Budget-friendly Grandstand seats can be found on the west side of the field in sections 427–447. Ticket holders enter from below, and those concerned with climbing should be wary since they’ll need to head up stairs even to get to row 1.
500 Level
The Bears VIP SkyDeck is a standing-room-only area below the video board on the north side of Soldier Field. Table tops are available, but space is limited, so arrive early if you intend to spend time on the patio but want a satisfactory view of the game.
Along the sidelines, you’ll find indoor Executive Suites with climate control and exclusive amenities. Some boxes include catering options, a perk that appeals to private parties and other groups. Of course, the most coveted suites are those closest to midfield.
Accessibility Options
Soldier Field's accessibility options ensure an inclusive experience for all fans. Convenient seating is designated on all levels, with elevators near Gate 6 for easy entry. These areas offer unobstructed views, and each platform includes a power outlet for added convenience.
A drop-off and pick-up point is located at the Gate 14 turnaround area, and it can be accessed off Museum Campus Drive on the southeast side of the building. A valid handicapped plate or placard must be visible.
Parking & Alternative Transportation
Parking options at Soldier Field can be somewhat limited. However, spaces can be reserved in advance when you get your Bears tickets at GoTickets.com. We highly recommend taking advantage of this convenient feature! If you need to park in a remote lot, keep in mind that some offer shuttles to the stadium.
If you prefer public transportation, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has train and bus routes with stops in the area, and from the Chicago suburbs, a Metra train to the Union or LaSalle Street Stations can get you to a CTA transfer point. The Green Line provides direct service at the Roosevelt Station.
For those looking for a more scenic route, water taxis may be operating between Navy Pier and the Museum Campus. These boat rides are worth trying at least once, and a Bears game is the perfect excuse.
Bears Tailgating & Game Day Traditions
Chicago is in a league of its own when it comes to tailgating and traditions. The Bears faithful know how to celebrate football in style. From savory tailgate food to fan rituals, game day at Soldier Field is unforgettable.
Hours ahead of kickoff, people head to designated lots around the stadium to fire up their grills for pre-game feasts. You’ll find everything from the usual picnic fare to Midwest favorites. Passersby can be heard raving about the chili, and plates are piled high with loaded Italian sandwiches and deep-dish pizza.
Navy and orange-clad partygoers mingle outside of their decorated cars. They’ll often play games as they talk about the greatest Bears plays, think about what the day will bring, and wax poeticly about the promising future of the franchise.
As ticket holders head inside, face painters can be seen giving families new looks, and curious visitors try on helmets and get their photos taken in the virtual locker room. Music blares from the Dr. Pepper Patio, as eager spectators search for their sections and head to their seats.
When it's game time, the famous "Bear Down, Chicago Bears" fight song unites the crowd, and every home team touchdown is met with a deafening roar. If a timeout is called, you’ll hear fans yell, “Where?!” And the announcer will politely let them know it’s “on the field.”
Doesn’t this all sound like a blast? It is! And you can get in on the fun. All you have to do is search GoTickets.com for the best Chicago Bears tickets and snag them before they’re gone.
